Volunteers' hearts are breaking for Edgar. He came in with Poe and then Poe got pulled to go to foster leaving Edgar behind. This sweet once smiling beagle boy is missing his friend and is whining in his kennel PLUS he is at the top of the euth list. He needs help immediately. There's a video on his petfinder link.
2-3 yrs old, 25-30 pounds, gets along with other dogs and is very affectionate and a real cuddle bug. He is the more affectionate of the two.

Meet sweet Emily who has a BIG lump on her shoulder but it doesnt stop her in the least. She is an affectionate love and gets along with everyone. The vet thinks she will live a normal life without removing the lump as she is getting up there in years and the time she has left should be happy and cared for. She loves to take walks, hang out with dog and cat friends. She has no food or toy aggression and adores her humans. She isn't a barker but boy can she snore and she loves couches!! She is now at Meade Canine Rescue in SLO county. Contact 805-239-4004 or 4dots@att.net to meet sweet Emily.
Meet Buddy. Buddy just had surgery and he is recovering nicely! He is just
a totally sweet beagle and now that he is on the mend, he would love a nice
loving home!
Darling Denver is waiting for his special person(s) to complete his rescue tale. He was found wandering in traffic, emaciated and so neglected he lost most of his teeth.
This low-key senior is looking for a gentle and compassionate home setting with an adult family who want to compensate for his past and spoil him going forward. Denver is good with cats, dogs and kids but would prefer a non-chaotic setting.
Denver enjoys attention but is more reserved than demanding. He prefers soft food to hard, especially home cooking a.k.a. table food. Hes grateful for a warm soft bed and rarely barks. Loves his crate.
If youve known the love / gratification of caring for an older dog and seek those rewards Denver might be your beagle.
Blaze is about the cutest dog I have ever seen and when he gets all excited which is most of the time, he runs like a bucking bronco and does puppy play and high fives til daybreak! Owners say he is 7 or 8 but his behavior is in the puppy range...and he will cause you to laugh alot because he is so CUTE!!! Highly affectionate and good with most dogs and even likes to play with them BUT when challenged by dogs he wont back off so meet and greets are in order if you have a dog already. Donation appreciated but great home and references required for our little Blaze of fire. Reminds me of a pretty little calf. Housetrained and learning crate training when it is time for quiet time.
Meet SALLY. Another sweet old girl!! Senior beagles are the best in my book and Sally fits that bill with a tail that never stops wagging. She loves the car and cries bloody murder if you dont take her with you. She doesn't bark but she loves to squeal! She loves dogs and cats and adores people. The vet thinks she spent most of her little life breeding as she shows evidence of lots of puppies but those days are behind her and she looks forward to being the baby now. Plus her girlish figure has even made those puppy bearing days seem far behind! She is doing much better with house training. Her crooked little face just melts a heart.

Lavon is a young male beagle in search of a good home. As you can see from his photos he has plenty of personality and just loves human interaction. This handsome boy is great with other dogs, wags his tail non-stop, eager to play. Lavon is up to date on all vaccines, neutered and microchipped. He tested positive for heartworms, but the animal shelter will treat this condition once he is adopted. Please contact the Jefferson Parish Animal Shelter, 504-736-6111, email: Jacob@jeffparish.net for more information.
