Rescue or Adopt Lacey, sweet 8 yr old beagle probably deaf - location is Charlotte NC

 Meet Lacey.  This little beagle is a sweet thing.  She is very cute, with big, bright, eyes and nice face.  She was listed as 8 yrs old, but I believe a little older, and has had all vetting  - and heartworm negative!

  She MAY be deaf, not sure, but is not responsive to much of any noise; will follow hand signs (like clapping to come).  She MAY have tumors,

as there are several lumps on her right side (though it may be fat!) and a definite lump on her tail.

I have her on low-fat kibble with 1/2 green beans, maybe a little rice (1T)...  I think she is losing weight, slowly. Of course, I have had her only 14days.  She is totally house trained, gets along with

all the other dogs.  She has apparently lead a sedentary life for awhile, and doesn't know anything else but eat, sleep, eat.  But I'm told she does love to walk. (I just have not taken her out, as 

I had minor surgery on my leg.  Eager to get her and the others out for walks soon.)

When she first arrived, she acted as though she was expecting to be slapped any time I would approach her. The gal who submitted her told me the first family who had her included a dog 

that would chew on her.  I don't think she would react that way to people if it had been a dog.  She is not afraid of the other dogs here.  I believe someone was hitting her.  She is becoming

more relaxed each day, and seems to be getting comfortable and happy. She will now wander thru the back yard with or without my company, although she still prefers my being with her.

I think this sweet girl would be a welcome addition to any family.  Children could enjoy her if they did not expect her to run and play with them, as that just isn't in her now.

Lady, small senior beagle needs home! Queens NY

Lady was left at our shelter two weeks ago. She was emaciated and looked very sick. She could barely walk. We rushed her to the vet where they discovered she had pyrometra and had to perform emergency surgery to save her life.
Lady is a sweet dog, gets along with everyone including other dogs. She is an older dog (at least ten years old) and just wants a loving home where she will be properly cared for.

Adopt Jazzi - adorable senior beagle girl in houston!

Jazzi was dumped in a shelter by her family because no one wanted to take care of her.  She was taken into foster and immediately had to have emergency surgery as she had 27 bladder stones.  She came out of
the procedure with flying colors, wondering why no food was around!!  Shortly after this, Jazzi had to
have a full dental and extractions.  Once more, her sunny personality shined through this procedure.

bio: His name is Killer (my dad and daughter call him Sport) and he is a beagle mix.  His birthday is 11-16-03, so he is 8 1/2.  He gets along well with other dogs, has never been around cats, and is good with kids. He knows "down" (as in get off of me!), "sit", "stay" (for the most part - to keep him away from the gate when going in and out), "come", and a few other basics.  He has allergies and takes bendaryl daily, but that may not be necessary when he is in a new environment.  His allergies have made him be on steroids this summer and last summer.  I have enough to pass on with him to new owner or rescue.  He is up to date on all shots and just had his heartworm and flea treatments last week. He is neutered. He weighs about 40-45 pounds.  He was an inside dog except when I was at work.  For the last two years about, he has been outside only.  He has no problems with waiting to go to the bathroom outside.  He really has calmed down over the last year and enjoys laying in the sun or getting under the shed in the cool, dark, wet, mud when it is hot out.  

He really is a good dog, but with me being in a hotel for a few weeks and not having a fenced yard or a place to keep him, he deserves better.  He does need a fenced yard and people who can make sure that the kids don't open the gate and let him out.  He enjoys playing "catch me if you can" when he gets out, but he always comes back when he is hungry.  SPort needs a rescue org. to take him soon OR a new loving home.
