A volunteer writes: Missy is a beautiful lady Beagle. She just looks perfect, so well groomed, a nice weight, friendly and with the most beautiful hazel eyes. Missy, unfortunately is blind and it became evident to her owners just recently. She is said to be a very good and loving dog. Missy might not see like you and me but she takes her cues from what she hears and smells. As a respectable Beagle, she loves treats and will follow a piece of dry liver. She will listen to my voice and the sounds of my shoes. Missy is smart. She eliminates as we walk in the yard. She does not seem afraid of nearby dogs coming to our pen. Missy likes to be petted and seems quite comfortable on my lap. She is a sweet and loving girl who needs a very special person to understand her challenges, will make the best of them while enjoying a wonderful relationship between master and dog. Missy is at the Manhattan Care Center..wishing upon a star.
Our sweet gal has been receiving the spa treatment for the last couple of months and she is all ready to be adopted and go to her forever home! She was found in the woods in poor condition--another discarded beagle. No one came looking for her and we took her in. She has been living in a foster home getting pampered and eating great and putting on weight--she's a perfect 30 lbs now. Her coat looks wonderful and she's got a spring in her step. Her blood work is all good and she has been spayed and microchipped and she even had her teeth cleaned!. We guess she's about 7 years old and would be really a wonderful companion for someone with a low-key lifestyle that likes to walk. Gertty thoroughly enjoys her daily walks and like all good beagles loves to "read the Beagle News" with her nose.
For more information about Gertty or to meet her in the Belvidere, NJ area please contact us at grrnewjersey@gmail.com. Our adoption application may be downloaded from our home page at www.grrnj.petfinder.org.

There must a rescue for this senior tri-colored beagle girl. Snoopy Girl is having a difficult time, stressing in the shelter environment. No senior dog should have to experience such a traumatic fate in an uncompassionate shelter. She has a kennel mate that will be leaving via adoption soon, which is only going to worsen her delicate situation to be left without any company.
Please, please, please share for this gentle older girl. There must be a rescue or an adopter that can help pull her from this torture that she is feeling 24/7.

Phyllis came to the shelter with her daughter, who found a home, but now she needs one and her time is running out.
This beagle (beagle mix?) girl is only about 3 years old and about 35 lbs. of love and fun. But she's been at the shelter a long time now and they are getting crowded. Someone needs to take this girl home or to a placement in a rescue to ensure her safety. Please take a look and see if you can help Phyllis keep her tail wagging!

TONY HAS A SPONSOR WHO WILL PAY FOR THE REMOVAL OF THE GROWTH AND OTHER VETTING NEEDED. IF YOU CAN HELP TONY, EMAIL FULTON COUNTY ANIMAL SERVICES ASAP!
Tony came in as a stray on 7/6. He has been vaccinated and is heartworm negative. We approximate his age around 8 years old. Tony has a growth on his stomach about the size of a walnut. It is attached to the body wall. It is not painful. Tony is a vibrant senior...well, middle aged young man. He loves people and shares his kennel with several other dogs his size. Tony cannot be adopted from our shelter due to the growth. He needs rescue.
If you can help email rescue@fultonanimalservices.com
