Adopt Ida, a 6 year old beagle/special needs as she has seizures in Maryland

Are you looking for a great doggie friend?  Ida might be just the girl for you.  Ida is a 15 inch beagle and is about 6 years old; she is tri-colored and has a lot of red ticking as well.  Ida gets along well with other dogs, but does not like cats, and would be happiest with no other small animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, or birds. She is very quiet and reserved – she is crate and house trained, but does not like to go outside without a person with her.
Since coming to Sanctuary House [in Upper Fairmount, MD] last spring, Ida has had several seizures.  At the present time she is not on any medication.  Because other dogs sometimes attack a dog having a seizure, it is important for Ida not to be left alone, unsupervised,  with other dogs. Ida needs an owner who understands epilepsy and is willing to love her unconditionally.
Ida is looking for a quiet home; she likes to sit under the desk or cuddle on the couch and watch a movie.  She is not a high energy doggie, and is usually content with brief walks or play time.  Ida loves dog biscuits.
Ida is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and has tested  negative for heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasmosis.  She will be microchipped prior to adoption.
Ida will travel to Easton, MD, to meet prospective adopters.  If you are interested in adopting Ida, please email Sister Mary Winifred at sistermw@bwave.com for an application.

Adopt Randy, an adorable senior male beagle!

Randy is a 9 year old male beagle rescued from a kill shelter.
Look how adorable this guy is!!!
From the foster mom - I brought him home last night and he definately lived in a home before...he sure knows what a refrigerator is.  Every time I opened the fridge he would run over and sit down...he actually was shaking me down for food with that I am so cute you can't resist me look.  His paperwork said he was around 9 years old, not 13, and he sure was acting much younger last night.  He is a different dog in a home...relaxed and confident and happy.  He will go to the door and let you know when he has to go out.  He loves hanging out and should be easy to work with as he is so food motivated...especially turkey pepperoni.  He is not the dog that we originally had on Petfinder...he has a ton of personality and is oh so much more.  He is a quiet, low energy guy and whoever is the lucky person to adopt him will be delighted with him. please email eleventhhrrescue@aol.com for adoption information or visit our website at http://members.petfinder.org/~NJ376/Home.htm

Adopt Jenna, 10 1/2 year old female beagle who needs a new forever home

Jenna is a little misunderstood but really it is she who doesn't understand just why she is in a rescue after 10.5 years with a family who loved her so very much UNTIL one day Jenna was sound asleep, thank you, when her little child brother landed on her and she startled into bite mode! Fortunately for her, her family wasnt thrilled with putting her down and did try for a month to find her a home when just in passing they were finally told about a little rescue in New Preston who happens to be very fond of older beagles who are just the best!! They really are! Help her to find the home that will never give her up again and enjoy the many years she has to look forward to - thank goodness!! We all had a cry of relief to see her ready to begin a whole new phase of beagledom.  email 4dots@att.net - Jenna is with Meade Canine Rescue, New Preston, CT

Adopt Oliver - a great senior beagle in New Jersey!!

Oliver has been with 11th Hour for over 6 months. He was
originally found running the streets of Newark. He was rescued by 11th Hour and has been with us ever since. He would do best in a home without other dogs or with less active dogs. He ignores cats. Oliver’s signature move is giving you a ‘high five’ when you approach him and he can keep himself entertained for a while with a tennis ball.  He is housetrained, not destructive, doesn't bark and rides nicely in the car.

Oliver should go to a single-person home.  He gets very attached to his owner and if living with a family, he will pick one person to
protect and will growl at all others. He is very friendly outside of
the house on walks with all people and other dogs.  He would be the perfect dog for an elderly single person or just a single person in general.  email Eleventhhrrescue@aol.com for adoption information.  Let's give Oliver a home!
