Long Island Toby and Fred two beagles ages 8 and 5 need a new home!

toby left and fred right need a home!!!!

Two beagle brothers are up for adoption. It is a free adoption. They were abandoned at a kill shelter after boarding at my animal hospital and me and a few co-workers adopted them ourselves but it is only temporary until we find them homes. I am a veterinary assistant working at an animal hospital and they are currently staying at my job until we can find them homes. PLEASE READ THEIR STORY BELOW!

On Tuesday January 21, 2014 Toby and Fred were dropped off at the animal hospital that I work at for boarding. They were going to begin what was oddly a lengthy stay but they have been long time clients and have always stayed with us before. However on Friday January 24, 2014 their owner came to pick them up and we thought nothing of it. 20 minutes later we received a phone call from the shelter that the owner brought them to the shelter and surrendered them. This shelter was a kill shelter. These boys who are brothers were giving up with no notice and left to hopefully we adopted together.
My heart broke and with a few co-workers of mine decided that we needed to do something and save them. We made a ton of phone calls to the shelter and discussed many options with them and came to the conclusion that collectively we were going to adopt them for the time being and save them. We are happy that today January 27, 2014 they are back and safe with us but this is only temporary. We MUST find them homes. My boss is being kind enough to allow us to keep them together at my job while we find them permanent homes. THEY MUST BE ADOPTED TOGETHER! They only know being with each other and can not be separated.

The first picture is Toby who is 8years old and the second picture is Fred who is 5 years old. The third picture is of them together with Toby on the left and Fred on the right. Both boys have been neutered, are up to date on all vaccines and both have microchips. Both are in good health.

There will be an application that you can fill out and i can send to you. Email me at AdoptTobyandFred1@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting i can email you the application form for the adoption. I will review the application and set up a time that you can meet with the boys.

PLEASE I ask if you are interested or know anyone who is interested to please contact me (Joe) through phone (516) 729-0260 or email at AdoptTobyandFred1@gmail.com with your name and information.

CCAS Blackwood NJ "SAD SAYDEE" Very neglected senior beagle/Spaniel mix

Contact; Sherry  sheiser50@yahoo.com
This poor girl came into the shelter as a stray in December from a local town.
Of course her owners did not come for her because they didn't care.
You could see Saydee was terribly neglected by her horrible condition.
Filthy, raw elbows which indicate she had been kept outdoors for a long time.
Her mouth was swollen to the point that she couldn't eat. She had a large tumor hanging from her left ear that has to be hurting her. Long overgrown nails, so so thin, etc.
Saydee trembled from head to toe with fear for days and days. She would not allow us near hear out of both fear and pain.
Well. we got Saydee all fixed up medically and she is now loving our attention and her nice comfy bed.
She still shakes we think from the cold, but gets right out of her bed when she knows it's walk time.
Saydee has been recuperating in a shelter cage. Dogs barking, cold air streaming in her cage , so much noise and confusion for a senior girl who should be in a foster or permanent home by now.
She would so benefit from a loving and kind person who will help her gain some confidence and make her the princess she deserves to be.
Pic 2 is when she first came into the shelter and is sitting in her intake cage shaking with fear. Pic 1 is Saydee yesterday all snug in her blankie.
If you can't help our Saydee, will you please share her post so we can help her?

Brooklyn NY - Banksy an adorable 6 year old male beagle needs new home!

Meet Banksy.  Banksy is a 6 year old male neutered beagle with GORGEOUS markings as you can see
here.;  He is a sweet dog around 35 pounds.  Banksy would love a home as your only pet or with another
calm older dog.  Older kids would be good around him too.  He is picky about his dog friends and
sorry but no kitties for him.  He loves to be with people and would like a home where someone might
be home more, and a house with a yard would be great too!  But an apartment is also fine with someone
working who would use a dog walker to allow Banksy to keep sniffing outside like beagles do!
Please email joansdogs@aol.com for an adoption application for this cute guy!

Foster homes for beagles needed in NYC!

Hey everyone!  Most of you know that I am helping both senior dogs and older beagles leave shelters and get new homes. Beagles are very good dogs and make great family pets.  They are sweet, and cute and many are under 30 pounds. But not my Bodie. LOL.   Each day, more and more emails arrive, asking to please help this beagle or that beagle.  Although the younger ones usually can find rescue or adopters fairly quickly, the older ones are sitting in shelters longer and many do not make it out.  That is the sad reality.  So,
SOB/Saving Older Beagles is looking for some local foster homes in New York City.  Fostering is a great way to help a dog get a new home and the foster is very involved in caring for the dog, providing food, love and exercise and showing the dog to potential adopters.  The rescue takes care of medical issues if any.  I have found many homes in NYC for beagles and am continuing to do so.  If anyone is interested in providing a foster home for an older beagle, please email me at joansdogs@aol.com for a foster application.  Thanks and Happy New year to all!!  Joan and Bodie.

Saluda VA Lily Beagle small 20 lbs spayed ready for home or rescue now $50 donation to rescue

About Lily

Lily is about 7 years old and the sweetest girl. She would love to live in a quiet environment and sit on the couch with you. She only weighs 18 pounds. Lily is well-mannered and likes to go for walks on a leash. She would be perfectly happy to have a mature companion like herself.  She had probably lived in a pen before we got her as a stray - good with people but a little tentative with new people.
