Senior Beagle Annie needs her first forever home!

Annie: Beagle, Dog; Budd Lake, NJAnnie: Beagle, Dog; Budd Lake, NJ

Annie has never had a real family before. She was born and has lived the past 10 years at the same home but she has been chained outside with only a little bit of shelter and the birds and butterflies for companionship.
Until now, Annie was never taken to a vet, never allowed to come inside out of the rain or snow, and was never given any medication as her little body started to get achy and sore from age. Annie has had countless litters of puppies with neighborhood stray dogs, and eventually the home had become so overcrowded with her offspring and their offspring that Annie was viewed as the weak one of the pack. She was attacked repeatedly and bullied out of her dog house. No way for any dog to live.
For those of you who LOVE animals, it must break your heart to think about this precious, gentle little old girl standing out in the rain, snow, and punishing heat for TEN YEARS, just waiting for a hero.
Finally, Annies owners surrendered her because they were afraid that the other dogs were going to kill her. Annie slept for DAYS after her arrival in the safe haven of a Kentucky shelter and they could clearly see the relief and appreciation in her eyes when she was given unlimited food and a soft bed that she didnt have to share with anyone.
We believe that Annies nightmare is now over, but her story hasnt ended yet.
Annie needs a hero. Someone very special who will open their heart and their home to her for the remaining time she has left in this world.
Annie has been spayed (imagine!! In her golden years going through a surgery like that!). She is now up to date on dhlpp, bordatella, she has had her rabies shot, she has been dewormed, she is heartworm negative and she now is the proud owner of a microchip.
We have some small hurdles to overcome with little Annie. She needs to learn some basic commands, needs help with housetraining and she needs to find a wonderful home where she will finally be spoiled. She has suffered for so long at the hands of people with little heart if you have ever wanted to make a difference to a dog, this is your chance. Annies been waiting her entire life for someone to love her. Please, please, dont let her life have been in vain. Give Annie the home she so deserves before its too late.
